I bought this toy cooktop after reading the reviews on Amazon.com. It looks really cute both in the picture and in person. I also liked that it is compact and the back can slide back into the unit (looks like a magazine rack, which you can fill with toy kitchen equipment.)
However, I have had two sets delivered now, and both had the same problem:(1) the blue knob on the left fell off as I took the toy out of the box, and (2) the clock hands are so loose they don't stay in the position that you put them in.
I know that I can fix the first problem with wood glue quite easily, but the fact that both the sets that I bought had this knob come off makes me wonder if this toy is really as durable as other reviewers say. I wouldn't know how to make the clock hands tighter though; not sure if they're meant to be that loose, but the photos I have seen of this toy seem to suggest that the clock hands can be pointed to different times and not just hang straight down towards the six.
The wood quality is also a little less solid than I would have expected - seems like composite wood and not solid wood like the toys that you get from the European toy makers (like Haba).
Not sure yet if I'll be keeping this toy, and may trade up for something that stands a better chance of lasting a long time.
